dj_Cipher...

Cipher is one of the few Florida Natives left in the area. Having been raised in South Florida, Cipher has witnessed the many styles of music that were born here. Being introduced to breakbeats and electronic music in 1995 was a "life changing event", which quickly took hold of him. After his exposure to the electronic music scene, Cipher quickly immersed himself in the culture. Near the mid-90's he moved to Tallahassee to pursue a degree in Computer Science. While in Tallahassee, Cipher became a promoter for nightclubs and large shows in the North Florida region after meeting Pete Aude, the brother of Moonshine Music's co-founder Dave Aude. Some of the events presented huge names in the industry such as Icey, Keoki, Vicious Vic, and Monk, to name a few. It was during this time that he also started spinning, focusing on Electro and Funky Breaks. After his stint at FSU, Cipher returned to South Florida and re-united with longtime friend Justin Scott, and began FreeForm Recordings, a label with A&R as well as event production aspects. Around this time Cipher met Dan Warren, one half of Trip Theory and The Spacemen, and they quickly became friends. As the owner of Miami Beach Recording Studios, Warren has been the studio engineer behind many of Resinated Plates releases and all of Cipher's studio mixes. Resinated Plates proudly uses MBRS as their main studio in conjunction with Justin Scott's home studio. Cipher handles most technologlical aspects of Resinated Plates and FreeForm Recordings, as well as running a full-time computer repair and networking business.
